Amazon.com Product Description

These super-light, ear-bud headphones are water-resistant. They are the perfect headphone for those who relish outdoor, inclement weather exercise. They are also a top choice for those who enjoy lightweight, quality headphones. The silent cap confines the music to the listener's ear and away from those in the immediate area, a plus for those using the headphones in the coffee shop or library. The earphones are also open-air, meaning they allow ambient noises to enter the ear; this translates to a safer headphones, as the listener will be aware of horns, whistles and shouts.

The MDR-E827G's deliver a quality sound, even with their small size. The headphones use 13.5 millimeter drive units for a deep bass and clear treble. Sony also uses neodymium magnets which provide more energy per ounce than other conventional magnets. To improve bass sound, Sony utilizes both their Acoustic Twin Turbo circuit and a directional bass cap. The Acoustic Twin Turbo circuit achieves a high sonic output by utilizing sound chamber and duct technology. The cord is one meter long (3.3 feet) for ample range of movement.

 "Great product for price" 2009-09-04

i use these in the gym and they get pretty beat up. I added some rubber in ear fittings from a broken Creative headphone set and the bass sounds great. No distortion

"water resistant - so far" 2009-06-29

I have been using headphones that go over the top of your head for many years and then began using the kind that hang off your ear. But these kept shorting out either due to sweat getting in my ears or the wire connection at the ear bud kept coming loose. After going through 3 of them in about 1 1/2 years, I decided to get the kind that you insert into your ear.

I was concerned that these would fall out when I ran, but so far, they don't. I have to put the cord going to my Ipod in front of me, because if I run it up my back it tends to pull the ear bud out of my one ear.

Sweat does not seem to get in my ears and short out the ear bud like the ones that hang off your ear. Also, because they fit so tightly in my ear, I am able to turn the volume down considerably more. The sponge that fits over the ear bud does a good job of isolating outside noise as well as helping to hold it in you ear.

I have been using headphones for running for 15 years, and so far, these seem to be the best headphones I've had. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because I've only had them for a couple of months. If they last a year, I'd give them 5 stars.

 "so far so good" 2009-06-03

Bought this pair of headphones due to the reviews that indicate it's durable and for the storage case. It's held up so far. Sound quality is pretty decent for the price. With the foam pads, they are actually quite comfortable. I've always had trouble with ear-bud style headphones not staying in my ears, but this pair actually fits. Hoping that these last longer than my last pair (3 months)!

 "Works as stated" 2008-11-25

I've been using these headphones for an hour or two each day for the last month and I am very pleased.

They are sturdy, fit my ear well and the sound is good and clear.

The only gripe I have is that the case isn't very well made and I fear that if it's dropped, it will break.

Pretty good bank-for-buck, if you ask me, although I have yet to test their water resistance.

"I bought these for running but they didnt stay in" 2008-08-13
By Hannah Rauch
Just like my title, I bought these for running because there were so many positive reviews but as soon as I started running with them in, they fell out. I kept on having to push them harder into my ears in a attempt for them to stay in for more than a few seconds. No such luck.
